KSD karate club based at
Hillcrest School, Dudley continued to build on
previous successes. Recently at the SKF National
Karate Championships held at The Crystal Leisure
Centre, Stourbridge; they again proved to be the
club to beat by topping the medal table for the
second year running taking an astonishing 33 medals
in total. Club instructor Phil Whyte had nothing but
praise for his talented students, “Its difficult to
put into words just what our club has achieved, we
have all been working extremely hard for this
competition and to get the result we have is very
satisfying. I think it’s fair to say that the
standard of the competitors both in kata and
fighting categories were very high, that endorses
just how good the standard at our club is and
naturally that pleases me. However by the nature of
what we do we will not be resting too long, we are
fighters & winners and that only comes from
training, lots of training. Many of the results we
had can still be improved on and that has to be one
of our goals, I’d like to say a big thank you to all
of our competitors and supporters who were fantastic
as usual, its impossible for all of our students to
win medals because in some categories we have so
many but they all play an important role and that’s
why here at KSD karate we all share each others
successes, the full list of who won what will be
published on our website”. For more information
